Leaping Hare

I often see hares darting off across the fields and what athletic animals they are!
I have tried to capture their strong yet elegant bodies in my small, posed, hares.
The Hare is needlefelted around a wire armature with Jacobs wool. The coat is an undyed Moorit colour of Shetland wool. The eyes are glass and hand painted.
It is mounted on a piece of a stave from an old Whisky barrel. This barrel came from a local Speyside distillery which produces a very nice single malt!
