Mountain Hare

Portrait of a Mountain Hare. Needle felted onto a Russet brown woollen fabric and mounted in a 18 cm wooden hoop.

I love the colour changes of the Mountain Hare as its coat turns white with the onset of winter. So I created another Mountain Hare portrait for my series of animal art.

This one is a bit bigger than my other wooden hoop pictures. It is needle felted from Shetland wool on to a russet brown wool fabric. Mounted in a wooden embriodery hoop with a wire hanger on the back.

Diameter of Hoop: 18cms (7")

Handmade in Scotland using British wools, a beautiful and versatile fibre that is under used.  An eco friendly option for Christmas.
